Il titolo Visiones Temporis nasce dall’idea che il tempo non sia un flusso ma una visione: una presenza che appare, scompare, ritorna, e imprime il suo passaggio nelle superfici che attraversa.
Il tempo non si manifesta come una linea, ma come una presenza stratificata, instabile, talvolta indecifrabile. In Visiones Temporis lo sguardo umano diventa una superficie sensibile su cui il tempo lascia tracce, interferenze, cancellazioni. Gli sguardi ritratti non appartengono a un “adesso” definito: sono sospesi in una dimensione in cui passato, presente e futuro si sovrappongono.
Le immagini si presentano come apparizioni: occhi che emergono dalla materia, velati da texture, abrasioni, sovraesposizioni. La figura non è mai completamente rivelata, ma frammentata, come se il tempo stesso ne impedisse una lettura univoca. Le alterazioni cromatiche e materiche evocano l’erosione della memoria, il deposito delle esperienze, la trasformazione continua dell’identità.
Gli sguardi sembrano osservare e, allo stesso tempo, essere osservati dal tempo. In essi convivono rassegnazione e speranza: la consapevolezza di ciò che è stato perduto e l’attesa silenziosa di ciò che potrebbe ancora accadere. Nulla è affermato con certezza; tutto è possibile, ma anche temibile. Il tempo, qui, non consola né condanna: registra.
La fotografia diventa così uno spazio di meditazione, non di documentazione. Le immagini non raccontano una storia lineare, ma propongono visioni interiori, come se il tempo si manifestasse attraverso lo sguardo umano nel momento stesso in cui lo attraversa. Le superfici segnate, le ombre e le luci accecanti suggeriscono una temporalità fragile, in cui ogni istante è già memoria e ogni memoria è già trasformazione.
Visiones Temporis è un’indagine sul tempo come esperienza emotiva ed esistenziale. Un tempo che non si misura, ma si percepisce. Un tempo che scava, consuma e, talvolta, lascia intravedere una possibilità di riscatto.
Perché il tempo, qui, non passa: si rivela.
Project Statement
The title Visiones Temporis arises from the idea that time is not a flow but a vision: a presence that appears, disappears, returns, and imprints its passage onto the surfaces it traverses.
Time does not manifest as a line but as a stratified, unstable, and at times indecipherable presence. In Visiones Temporis, the human gaze becomes a sensitive surface on which time leaves traces, interruptions, and erasures. The depicted eyes do not belong to a defined “now”: they are suspended in a dimension where past, present, and future overlap.
The images appear like apparitions—eyes emerging from matter, veiled by textures, abrasions, and overexposures. The figure is never fully revealed but fragmented, as though time itself prevented any univocal reading. Chromatic and material alterations evoke the erosion of memory, the sediment of experience, and the continuous transformation of identity.
The gazes seem simultaneously to observe and to be observed by time. Within them coexist resignation and hope: the awareness of what has been lost and the silent expectation of what might still occur. Nothing is asserted with certainty; everything remains possible, yet also unsettling. Here, time neither consoles nor condemns—it records.
Photography becomes a space of meditation rather than documentation. The images do not narrate a linear story but offer interior visions, as though time manifested itself through the human gaze in the very moment it passes through it. Marked surfaces, shadows, and blinding lights suggest a fragile temporality in which every instant is already memory and every memory is already transformation.
Visiones Temporis is an inquiry into time as emotional and existential experience—a time that cannot be measured but can only be perceived. A time that carves, consumes, and at times reveals the faint possibility of redemption.
For in these images, time does not pass: it reveals itself.
