Lo spazio e il tempo animano costantemente la materia.
La stessa vita dell'uomo è scandita dai valori del tempo e dello spazio. Ognuno occupa uno spazio per il tempo che gli è stato concesso. Tuttavia, è nel modo in cui utilizziamo questi valori che la vita può assurgere ad una miserabile condizione opprimente oppure ad una meravigliosa opportunità.
Le antiche vestigia di Selinunte sono lì a testimoniare ancora oggi la gloria di una antica civiltà della Magna Grecia. Fotografando quei templi ho immaginato di trasportare quello spazio in una nuova dimensione senza tempo. La solitudine delle maestose colonne gridava vita in ogni sua forma e io volevo ridare un senso a quella vita mai perduta. Ogni scatto era accompagnato dal suono della gioia e del dolore, delle preghiere, dai sentimenti di speranza e di disperazione, mai sopite nel tempo. Voci che hanno lasciato un segno esistenziale e che mi hanno consentito di vivere una esperienza fotografica appagante e istruttiva. Il tempo ha il potere mutare le forme di uno spazio, non certamente i valori in esso contenuti.
Project Statement
Human life itself is marked by the values of time and space. Each of us occupies a space for the time allotted to us. However, it is how we use these values that life can become a miserable, oppressive condition or a wonderful opportunity.
The ancient ruins of Selinunte still stand today as a testament to the glory of an ancient civilization of Magna Graecia. By photographing those temples, I imagined transporting that space into a new, timeless dimension. The solitude of the majestic columns screamed for life in all its forms, and I wanted to restore meaning to that life, never lost. Each shot was accompanied by the sounds of joy and pain, of prayers, of feelings of hope and despair, never dulled by time. Voices that have left an existential mark and that have allowed me to live a fulfilling and instructive photographic experience. Time has the power to change the forms of a space, certainly not the values it contains.
