PERCEPTIONES
Perception is not a transparent passage to reality. It is an active process through which reality is constructed, interpreted and experienced.
Perceptiones investigates the distance between what exists and what is perceived. The photographic image becomes a field of transformation in which the visible is fragmented, concealed, reduced or displaced, altering the way the subject is recognised.
The body, objects and gestures remain present, but their ordinary identity becomes unstable. What appears familiar can become ambiguous; what seems absent may remain perceptually present. The image therefore does not seek to reproduce reality, but to question the mechanisms through which reality becomes visible to us.
Through subtraction and transformation, photography becomes an instrument of perception rather than representation. By changing what can be seen, the image opens another possibility of seeing.
Reality does not change. What changes is the way it manifests itself.
