Existence never fully coincides with the image through which it manifests itself.
Imago explores the space that separates being from its representation. The mask is conceived neither as a disguise nor as an artifice, but as a form through which the individual reveals part of the self without ever exhausting what truly exists.
Throughout the series, the face gradually gives way to representation. The image does not replace being; it accompanies it, making perceptible the distance that separates every identity from its visible manifestation.
The mask therefore does not represent deception, but a human condition in which being and appearance coexist in continuous tension. Each photograph inhabits this threshold: what appears never fully coincides with what exists.
Photography does not seek to unmask the individual or reveal what lies behind appearance. It makes visible the distance between presence and representation, recognising every image as only a partial manifestation of Existence.
