Viviamo un’umanità dai mille volti. Ogni giorno indossiamo maschere diverse, necessarie per adattarci ai contesti sociali, lavorativi e familiari. Mostrare il proprio volto sembra inopportuno, approfondire scomodo, esporsi inutile. La maschera diventa così uno strumento di equilibrio, accettato in nome del quieto vivere, del politicamente corretto e delle opportunità.
Questo continuo adattamento non è incoerenza, ma una forma di coerenza forzata, che richiede controllo e rinuncia. Identità Nascoste indaga la distanza tra ciò che mostriamo e ciò che siamo, mettendo in scena l’assenza del volto come segno di una verità trattenuta.
Perché la maschera non è eterna: prima o poi cade, lasciando emergere paure e fragilità mai confessate. È in quel momento che l’identità si rivela, non come risposta, ma come domanda aperta.
Project Statement
We live a humanity with a thousand faces. Every day we wear different masks, necessary to adapt to social, work, and family contexts. Showing one's face seems inappropriate, delving into details uncomfortable, exposing oneself pointless. The mask thus becomes a tool of balance, accepted in the name of quiet living, political correctness, and opportunity.
This constant adaptation is not inconsistency, but a form of forced coherence, requiring control and sacrifice. Hidden Identities explores the gap between what we show and what we are, staging the absence of the face as a sign of a withheld truth.
Because the mask is not eternal: sooner or later it falls, revealing unconfessed fears and fragilities. It is in that moment that identity is revealed, not as an answer, but as an open question.
