Un bicchiere è una forma neutra, una struttura disponibile. Solo l’ingresso di un fluido — colore, densità, temperatura — attiva il contenitore, trasformandolo in una presenza. In questo gesto minimo, apparentemente quotidiano, si rivela una dinamica essenziale dell’esistenza: la forma acquista senso solo quando viene attraversata dalla vita.
Humorum Vitalium nasce da questa tensione.
I fluidi — sostanze reali, instabili, transitorie — vengono isolati e sospesi dall’atto fotografico, sottratti al loro tempo naturale e restituiti come materia viva. La fotografia non documenta: trasfigura.
Il contenitore, da oggetto neutro, diventa un campo di energia. Il liquido, da fenomeno fisico, si eleva a presenza organica, una vibrazione cromatica che imprime identità alla trasparenza.
Il progetto indaga il rapporto tra forma e flusso, tra struttura e ciò che la attraversa.
È una metafora dell’esistenza come spazio di accoglienza: un corpo, una memoria, un luogo in cui la vita si deposita, si muove, si trasforma.
In queste immagini, i fluidi vitali non sono semplici bevande: sono tracce luminose dell’esperienza, segnali di un passaggio, impronte visibili della forza che dà significato alla materia.
project statement
A glass is a neutral form, a structure awaiting activation. Only when a fluid enters it—bringing color, density, and temperature—does the container become a presence. In this minimal, seemingly ordinary gesture, an essential dynamic of existence is revealed: form acquires meaning only when it is traversed by life.
Humorum Vitalium emerges from this tension.
Fluids—real, unstable, transient substances—are isolated and suspended by the photographic act, removed from their natural temporality and returned as living matter. Photography does not document: it transfigures.
The container, once a neutral object, becomes a field of energy; the liquid, once a physical phenomenon, is elevated into an organic presence, a chromatic vibration that grants identity to transparency.
The project investigates the relationship between form and flow, between structure and that which passes through it.
It proposes a metaphor of existence as a space of reception: a body, a memory, a place where life settles, moves, and transforms.
In these images, vital fluids are not simple beverages.
They become luminous traces of experience, signals of a passage, visible imprints of the force that gives meaning to inert matter.
