DYSTOPIAN FREEDOM (NEGATIVE UTOPIAS)

You are not born free, but you can decide to die free. Freedom is built day after day, with our decisions, and in the same way, and perhaps even more quickly, it can be lost, sold or bartered. The tyrants and the hardest chains to break are within us. Unlike an oppressor who can be fought and defeated, victory over our fears and limits is not as certain. Not to mention the lack of will we show to be architects of our own destiny. Humanity is therefore generally alienated in the illusion of living in a state of freedom. We must constantly be vigilant and understand how dangerous the subtle conditioning and enticements deriving from political, economic, spiritual and cultural hegemony can prove to be. It is up to us to decide whether to live in the imperfect multicolored chaos of freedom, or in the grey, ordinary and reassuring slavery.
