DE HOMINE SENTENTIAE
De Homine Sententiae explores the human being as a manifestation of Existence.
Rather than seeking to describe identity through appearance, the project looks at what can emerge through the individual: qualities, states and dispositions that make human existence perceptible.
The face becomes a threshold rather than a portrait. Through the photographic image, individuality is partially suspended, allowing something less specific and more essential to emerge.
Vis, Firmitas, Serenitas and Rationalitas do not describe four characters. They represent four different conditions through which the human being can reveal himself: strength, firmness, serenity and rationality. Each becomes a possible expression of Existence within the human condition.
Photography therefore does not attempt to capture who a person is. It seeks to reveal how Existence manifests itself through the human being.
